The Post-war German Luftwaffe
In 1956 the new German (West German) Air Force was formed once more into a fighting force. Still named the Luftwaffe, which is a German designation for any airforce. The new Luftwaffe, like all of the Bundeswehr, follows no traditions from the Wehrmacht’s days. After it was formed many well-known ace pilots of the Second World War’s Luftwaffe of the Wehrmacht joined up, including Erich Hartmann, Günther Rall, Gerhard Barkhorn and Johannes Steinhoff. Any old pilots underwent new training in the United States before returning to Germany. Steinhoff actually became the commander of the Lufwaffe, with Rall his second. POST-WAR GERMAN LUFTWAFFE The Luftwaffe were equipped...
Gun Review: HK USP SD 9mm
By Chris Hamilton Originally posted by: The Truth About Guns Okay, I’ve read Rainbow Six more times than anyone should be willing to admit, seen every episode of ’24’, played every Call of Duty game and now Leghorn’s got me hooked on the adventures of Pike Logan. Obviously, I operate hard. Much like myself, the HK USP SD is heavier than it needs to be and wishes it was more tactical than it is, but still proves to be a solid and reliable performer over 20 years after its introduction. HK USP History Throughout the ’90s and 2000s, no name was more synonymous with tacti-coolery than Heckler & Koch. The USP Tactical set...

Gun Review: Sig Sauer 1911 Max
Originally posted by: Nick Leghorn (TTAG.com) SIG 1911 MAX I consider myself a competent shooter. I mop up in local shooting competitions. But as soon as I venture out into national shooting competitions I realize I’m merely mediocre. I can hold my own in the middle of the pack, but the whooshing sound I hear when the big boys fly past me like a freight train can be deafening. Max Michel, Jr. is of those amazing shooters, a professional pistolero who knows his way around a 1911. SIG SAUER reached out to Max and offered him the opportunity to design his dream gun for public consumption....
Interview: Self-Defense and Krav Maga Expert, Lioness Tactical (aka Renee)
Author: “MB” (Dagger Defense) 16 September 2016 Obviously, having situational awareness of your surroundings is a key element to survival on the battlefield, but what about at home? Do you pay attention to the elements around you while walking home at dark, or going to your car by yourself at the grocery store? Sometimes we have a false sense of security when we feel the threat is low. “Low-threat mode” should be enjoyed by most of us while we go about our daily tasks, but unfortunately that’s not the world we live in. LIONESS TACTICAL “RENEE” I was made aware of Lioness...
